I’m Gabrielle, a freelance writer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While the business side of my writing is primarily marketing, my real passion lies in short stories. I have an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh and BAs in English and French from Ohio University.
I’ve been riding horses since I was about eight years old, and my main focus is in the hunter/jumper ring. What started as a few free lessons that my parents won in a raffle quickly became a wild passion. I’d leased several different horses before finally buying one of my own at the age of 26. Like most of my equine story, I found my heart horse by accident and maybe even a bit of luck.
Lucy is a ten-year-old, 15.2 appaloosa mare. She’s the first horse I’ve ever been able to call my own, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Although she didn’t come to me as an experienced jumper, she’s got a huge heart and lots of try, and we plan to start competing in local shows this season.
I’ve only recently been introduced to the many different facets of western riding and would love to try my hand at reining, judged trail rides, and (maybe in my dreams) mounted shooting.
Who wouldn’t love to hop up on Spirit (you know, from the movie) and run like the wind?!
I’ve got a little Boston Terrier named Truck.
I’m a Pisces and wholeheartedly believe that astrological signs are onto something.
